Nurmagomedov's surprise withdrawal: "I can't go back without my father"

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) lightweight world champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (32) announced his surprise retirement on Saturday after revealing that he had promised his mother that the fight against

"I am the undisputed and undefeated champion of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) with a record of 13-0 (in the UFC) and with 29-0 in my entire professional career in MMA," he declared after his victory in Abu Dhabi .

"I promised my mother that this would be my last fight. I can't go back without my father," he said.
