It went quickly last time when Khamzat Chimaev was inside the cage.

In 17 seconds he won against Gerald Meerschaert and created an even bigger wave of rumors worth surfing.

Since then, the Swede has searched for almost every opponent that has been available.

The closest fight to get rid of was a meeting with the British Leon Edwards who has eight straight victories.

Refused four times

But Edwards preferred to bet on a title match and declined - four times over - prompting the UFC to announce that it would remove the Briton from the welterweight rankings due to inactivity.

That message took effect and to Chimaev's great joy, Edwards regretted it and a match has now been decided.

On twitter, Edwards wrote to Chimaev:

"I'm still in the rankings.

Fuck all this inactivity, the only reason I have not been beaten is because all these so-called top guys rejected me.

Khamzat, do you want to fight? ”

Of course, Chimaev was quick to respond:

"I'm always ready.

Let's go!

Rock'n 'Roll! ”

A lot at stake

December 19 is gala day and the main match will be between the men above - something like UFC boss Dana White.

In the meeting, a lot will be at stake for each fighter.

If Chimaev wins, he shows that he is really at the top of his weight class and if Edwards wins, he strengthens his shares for a title fight.

Chimaev is still undefeated with nine straight victories while Edwards has a record of 18 wins and three losses.
