The transfer window closed as early as August 25, but due to the corona pandemic, the Swedish clubs were given permission to recruit non-contract players also in September.

One club that did it was the league three BK Häcken, who tonight announced that they have signed a contract with the Serbian left back Nikola Gulan.

The reason why the transfer was communicated only tonight is that he has been waiting for a Swedish work permit, which is now clear.

- He is left-footed and has played on the left as a full-back or center-back, but in an earlier part of his career also in the inner midfield.

An entire football player with good experience and with good recommendations from the clubs he has been to, both as a player and as a person, says Häcken's sports director Sonny Karlsson in a press release.

"Is very happy"

Gulan has played in Italian Fiorentina, Empoli and Sampdoria, among others, and comes most recently from Israeli Hapoel Haifa.

He does his first training with Häcken on Tuesday, and has the goal clear to him.

- I am very happy to be part of BK Häcken and look forward to representing the club.

I will do my best to help the team reach our goal this year, to take a European place, he says.
