SOC, which is normally part of the world tour series and every year attracts the world's absolute best players, was to be decided on November 3-8 in Eriksdalshallen in Stockholm.

Taking into account the pandemic situation, the tournament is now being moved to the summer.

To compensate for the loss of SOC, Helsingborg has received a compensation competition under the name Sweden Tour International.

Given the entry restrictions for non-EU citizens, no Asian players will be able to participate.

In the ranking, the top eight on the men's side are players from outside the EU, while the top 14 on the women's side come from Asia.

- It will primarily be a competition with European players and Asians who live in Europe, says Ansbro.

The key issue in bringing about a "light version" of SOC in Helsingborg was that the international table tennis association gave the go-ahead for the tournament to be considered a ranking competition.

Then the plan is to play an SOC in Stockholm fully until the early summer.

- Then the international table tennis association wants four European tournaments in a "bubble", says Ansbro.
