UAE Professional Association holds an integrity and anti-doping workshop

The first session of the annual Integrity and Anti-Doping Workshop, organized by the UAE Professional League with "remote" visual communication technology, kicked off on Monday evening, and is attended by all players from the 14 clubs within the club licensing requirements.



The workshop aims to protect the integrity of sport and the association's competitions, and was presented by Benoit Basker, General Counsel and Former Director of Legal Affairs at the AFC, who has served as referee on the Court of Arbitration for Sport since 2019.

During his seven years at the AFC, Basquer also oversaw the introduction of the AFC's integrity program and progress in the fight against doping across Asia.



During the workshop, Bascare sheds light on annual updates on anti-doping and match-fixing regulations, and also reviews a number of cases that illustrate their risks.

Bascare also provides some guidelines for dealing with cases of doping, match-fixing, and the penalties that violators may be exposed to.



For his part, Walid Al Hosani, Executive Director of the UAE Professional League, stressed the importance of adhering to anti-doping and match-fixing measures, saying: “Protecting the integrity of UAE Professional League competitions is a top priority for us. Therefore, we hope this workshop will provide guidance to players on the latest anti-doping regulations. Doping and match manipulation to ensure fairness and integrity for the UAE Professional League competitions. "

The integrity and anti-doping workshop will continue until October 18th, with individual sessions being held with each club via visual communication technology.
