Approval of November 13 for the start of the First Division League

The Football Association Competitions Committee has approved the start dates for the 2020-2021 sports season, starting from next October 9 with the preliminary qualifying matches for the President's Cup for first-class clubs, while the Amateur League will start on November 13.

This came during the committee’s meeting yesterday through a visual communication system headed by Ahmed Youssef bin Darwish, member of the board of directors and chair of the committee, and with the participation of Saif Al Mansouri, member of the board of directors and vice-chairman of the committee, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hatawi, Jumah Al-Abdouli, Yahya Al-Matroushi, members of the committee, Ayman Haroun, director of the contests and registration department, and Muhammad Ali Al-Naqbi. Head of the competitions department.

The committee approved November 7 to conclude the pre-cup qualifiers, while the round of 16 will be held on December 5 and 6, and the quarter-finals on the 21 and 22 of the same month.

As for the Amateur League competition, it begins on November 13 and ends on April 24 of next year.

The committee also approved the results of the evaluation test that it held for the observers and coordinators after the end of the workshop organized by the committee on 7 and 8 September, which witnessed the participation of 38 observers and coordinators, including two new observers.

It has been decided to suspend training for the U-12 youth teams and football schools in all clubs, starting today, Tuesday, September 29, until further notice.
