The Coaching Council of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) has adopted the selection criteria for the national team for the World Cup.

The squad for the first four stages will be formed at the suggestion of the coaches without taking into account the results at the control starts.

Those athletes who have undergone centralized training for the new season will have the opportunity to be in the national team.

Four men and four women will go to the first starts after the New Year at the end of the World Cup, as well as those who will prove themselves in domestic competitions.

For the eighth and ninth stages, as well as for the World Championships in Pokljuka, the roster will again be formed on the basis of the decision of the coaching staff, taking into account performances at international competitions.

Before the final competition in Holmenkollen, two IBU Cup athletes will join the team.

The admission criteria will soon have to be adopted by the SBR board.

The head coach of the Russian national team Valery Polkhovsky noted that the refusal from qualifying starts did not meet with resistance from other specialists.

At the same time, he noted that the sports principle will still be observed when forming a team.

“New things are always perceived ambiguously, since everyone has their own opinion.

Now we are trying to raise the prestige of the coaching staff institute.

Not only the national team, but also regional coaches.

The selection criteria were discussed at the coaching council, there were no objections.

There is no such thing that we drive ourselves into frames and then begin to get out of them.

You have to trust the team's coaches.

I, too, will not stand aside, I will be responsible for all these teams.

At the forefront will be exclusively sporting principle, "- quoted by Polkhovsky TASS.

In a press release published following the meeting of the coaching council, it is noted that the passage of centralized training is not a prerequisite for getting into the national team.

Those athletes who prepared for the season on their own will also be able to qualify.

It is noted that this list includes world champion Alexander Loginov, Matvey Eliseev, Karim Khalili, Larisa Kuklina and Ekaterina Yurlova-Perkht.

Their nominations will also be considered.

The Coaching Council announced the criteria for admission to the national team before the sprint races at the Russian Summer Biathlon Championship in Tyumen.

Although these competitions cannot formally affect the inclusion in the national team, they still allow us to draw some conclusions that the coaches will have to take into account.

Among the girls, Ekaterina Glazyrina showed herself best of all.

A year ago, she did not make it to the team, despite successful performances in qualifying starts.

This time, the 33-year-old athlete again proved that she has the right to play for the national team.

In the individual race, she took second place, losing only to Victoria Slivko.

In the sprint, the oldest participant won a victory with flawless shooting.

She managed to get around Svetlana Mironova by just two seconds, who showed the best speed, but lost because of one miss.

After the victory, Glazyrina noted that she was now confident in her return to the team.

“I'm not afraid there will be a repeat of last season.

There are tests, there are control trainings, you can see a lot from them.

There is some confidence that now everything will be fine, ”the athlete said to“ Sport-Express ”.

The third in the sprint was Evgenia Pavlova, and this is another potential return to the national team.

She showed high accuracy and speed at a good level, which she lacked so much in last year's only relay at the World Cup.

The selection for the women's team will be easier this year, as Kristina Reztsova will miss the season.

During the Russian Championship, she announced that she was taking a break due to pregnancy.

Tatyana Akimova, who has just returned to sports after the birth of a child, can now try to take her place.

The winner of the World Cup stage has not yet pleased with the results, but with clean shooting she could have entered the top three in the individual race.

In the men's competition, the performance of the leader of the national team, Alexander Loginov, was expected, but at the last moment he withdrew due to an elbow injury.

In the near future, he does not even plan to train on roller skis.

In his absence, Eduard Latypov showed himself brightest of all.

He became the winner of the sprint race with more than a minute lead over Petr Pashchenko, despite the fact that the Universiade champion could not avoid one mistake.

Such an advantage over rivals in speed last season was demonstrated only by Johannes Boe, while Latypov complained after the race about his poor condition.

“I was feeling bad, plus such weather conditions ... It was hard.

I walked evenly for two laps, but with a small margin for the finish, because initially I did not feel well.

I managed to keep my speed, and the coaches said that I was the leader with an advantage, so in the end I relaxed a little, ”Latypov told Match TV.

The first place in the individual race went to Semyon Suchilov.

In speed, he lost to the same Pashchenko, but made not four misses, but two.

Matvey Eliseev lost 40 seconds to the winner, who became fourth in the sprint a day later.

Igor Malinovsky grabbed his chance to catch on to the national team.

One of the most titled juniors did not miss a single mistake in the 20-kilometer race and became a bronze medalist.

In the summer, he trained in the Omsk region separately from the national team, and he needed this medal to attract the attention of the coaching staff.

The Russian Championship in Tyumen not only gave some biathletes an opportunity to declare themselves, but probably also closed the road to the national team for others.

Bronze medalist of the Olympic Games Evgeny Garanichev managed to take only 15th and 18th places in personal races.

The world champion in the relay Anton Babikov also finished far from the prize triples, but at the same time showed very good speed in the sprint.

However, two misses nullified all efforts.
