A legendary crowning for the Emirates Cycling Team after its historic tour of France

In just four years, the level of the UAE team has evolved from a young and rising team to a world-class institution that won the most prestigious title and the largest cycling race on earth, achieved by star cyclist Tadi Bogachar, who was crowned today in France by a legendary crown.

To celebrate this sporting achievement, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, one of the world's most prominent landmarks, was lit in the colors of the team, in honor of its achievements and as an inspiration for the new generation of Emirati riders.

Pugachar, who today marks his twenty-second birthday, became the youngest cyclist to win the Tour of France in 111 years, when he crossed the finish line on the famous Champs-Elysées in the French capital, "Paris" yesterday evening.

But this amazing win was not achieved only on that day, or thanks to the efforts of Tady alone;

It came after a three-week tour, which covered a distance of 3,385 km across France, supported by the efforts of the entire team, as seven other riders set off from the starting line in Nice on August 29, and set their sights on one goal: to win the general classification with young cyclist Tady Bogachar.

The team's efforts not only bore fruit in achieving that goal, but also added to its tally of winning four stages out of 21 stages / Alexander Kristof - Stage 1, and Tady Pogachar - Stages 9, 15 and 20 /, and retaining the white jersey for the best young rider, and the spotted jersey for racing. And with that, Bogachar and the UAE team wrote their names in the records of history, at a defining moment in the world of cycling.

Commenting on this great achievement, Pogachar said: I still do not fully believe what happened, as I stand wearing the yellow shirt of the Tour of France;

My tongue is incapable of describing how I feel .. All training this year focused on this round, and I went through it with my best condition, and although we lost some of our teammates during that round, we did not despair and maintained our positivity ..

The tour spanned over three weeks, during which we spent a wonderful time, during which an atmosphere of positivity and team spirit prevailed.

Although Bogachar is the owner of the achievement, the efforts of the entire team were an essential component, as he relied on his teammates, namely David de la Cruz, David Formolo, Fabio Arrow, Alexander Christophe, Figuard Steak Laingen, Marco Marcato, and Jan Polanc Their continuous efforts contributed to maintaining the integrity of Bogachar and enabled him to achieve the best performance day after day, regardless of the diversity of the race track, and the team's efforts and dedication combined with Bogachar's talent to achieve this remarkable historic victory for the UAE team.

Although this victory is the largest and most important for the UAE team throughout its four-year history, it is not the first victory. In 2019, the team won 31 victories, including Bogachar’s victory in three stages in the Spain tour, as the team achieved in 2018 and 2017, 14 and 19 wins, respectively.

As for this year, the team's riders have stood on the podiums 28 times, four of them in national championships, at a time when only half of the season has passed.

There is no doubt that the UAE team is witnessing an upward curve in terms of performance, as the team has been keen to upgrade its formation and the performance of its riders year after year, and with the signing of Bogachar to a long-term contract with the team, the team expects to achieve more victories, as Bogachar says: From the moment I joined Team Emirates, I felt a sense of belonging to my family, I have many friendships within the team, in a positive atmosphere prevailing among the team members of cyclists and technicians .. And that, without a doubt, is one of the most important reasons that led me to renew my contract until 2024 .. The Emirates team is a project. Long term sponsored by a number of leading sponsors, I am proud to be part of this mega project.
