5 Saudi Al Hilal players were infected with the Corona virus

 The Asian Football Confederation announced today, Saturday, that five players from the Saudi Al-Hilal club, in addition to the team's administrators, have tested positive for the Corona virus.

The group stage matches of the AFC Champions League competition will be completed tomorrow, Monday, in Doha, with the assembly system for all four groups of West Asia, where the group stage matches and the knockout rounds are played until the final.  

The Confederation confirmed in a brief statement: "The AFC, in coordination with the health authorities in Qatar, conducted medical examinations for all participants in the 2020 AFC Champions League for the western region of the continent upon their arrival in Doha."

He added, "So far, the results of the tests showed that five players from the Saudi Al-Hilal club and a member of the team’s administrative apparatus, in addition to one player from Al-Duhail Club, have tested positive."

The statement concluded: "All appropriate medical care and support is provided to both teams, and all individuals who have tested positive are subject to medical follow-up, with isolation procedures applied according to safety requirements and the Corona virus protocols followed in the tournament."

A source at Al-Hilal Club confirmed that the players whose tests appeared positive underwent a second swab to make sure of the initial results, and the injured were isolated in one of the floors of the Mission Hotel.

The tournament regulations stipulate that any team should complete the tournament matches by ensuring that there are thirteen players on the list in addition to a goalkeeper.
