Things are moving at the Olympique de Marseille.

The club has chosen a new director of recruiting, David Friio, a French former recruiter including Manchester United, we learned Tuesday from a source at the club, confirming information from

L'Equipe

.

In collaboration with Longoria

The new "scouting manager" will work with the Spaniard Pablo Longoria, the director of football hired this summer, whom he already knows.

He will help him to manage the recruitment of the professional team and the training center.

Aged 47, David Friio, born in Thionville in Moselle, was notably a player in Nîmes (1997-1999) then in England, in Plymouth Argyle (2000-2005) and Nottingham Forest (2005-2006).

He started his career as a recruiter in England at Forest (2006-2008) before moving on to Manchester United (2008-2017), where he was prospecting in France.

He notably contributed to the emergence of Paul Pogba.

For three seasons, Friio worked in Saint-Étienne.
