The KHL premiere started really badly for AK Bars Kazan's Swedish goalkeeper Adam Reideborn when he let in the first shot he got against him.

The scorer was Dimitrij Samorukov.

In the second period, Bars Kazan equalized when Mikael Wikstrand passed to the Frenchman Stephane da Costa.

CSKA then took the lead again through Anton Slepysjev and it could have been 3-1 when the home team got a penalty.

But then Reideborn stepped forward and saved the same Slepysev's attempt.

Instead, Justin Azevedo equalized with seven minutes left of regular playing time and the match went to extra time.

Once again, the former Djurgårds goalkeeper made a couple of decisive saves before Dimitrij Voronkov decided and made sure that Bars Kazan became the first winner of the KHL season.
