The 59th Mondial la Marseillaise de pétanque is definitely to be placed under the sign of the fight.

The team of Christophe Borrely, Mario Augugliaro and "Kiki" Dubois were disqualified after the latter clashed with a spectator in the middle of a game.

The opposing team (David Riviera, Jérémy Fernandez and Mickaël Bonetto) led 11-4 when Dubois was disturbed in full shooting by an insulting supporter, before breaking down.

The latter climbs up in the gallery and walks towards the place where the insults came from, before laying down a spectator.

“He punched a spectator in the head from behind.

The man fell to the ground, stunned ”, describes a spectator quoted by France 3. A crowd movement follows between pro-Dubois and the others, forcing security to intervene.

Consequently, "security will be reinforced in order to avoid the reproduction of such acts", assures Pierre Guille, the president of the Mondial la Marseillaise à pétanque.
