It was the strong Horvat who started the goal scorer in the first period when he through a solo performance fixed 1-0 to Vancouver in numerical disadvantage.

Tanner Pearson then made it 2-0 in powerplay and Elias Pettersson was the assistant.

St. Louis had time to reduce before the second period was over, but early in the third the Swede was ahead with the club and put 3-1.

Brock Boeser recorded the puck in front of goal and Pettersson was quick in thought and put the club on the bouncing puck. That goal also came in numerical superiority and the Swede has now scored in two straight games.

St. Louis, who won the Stanley Cup 2019 and was the best in the Western Conference before the regular season was interrupted due to the corona pandemic, caught up thanks to goals from Sammy Blais and Jaden Schwartz. Thus, the match went to extra time.

Almost six minutes into overtime, Horvat came free and scored his second goal of the evening and sixth since the regular season ended.

- My game feels pretty good, but the most important thing is that it takes a whole team to win an ice hockey match. Right now we are stable all the way from the goalkeeper up, says Horvat to ESPN.

Vancouver's Swedish goalkeeper Jacob Markström accounted for 34 saves.

Now the Canucks have two straight victories and thus need two more to beat St. Louis,
