Duel at the head of the race on the Dauphiné - Anne-Christine POUJOULAT / AFP

We are still nice. Rather than choosing this photo as an illustration for the article, we preferred to give you an image of the leading peloton in the final sprint of the second stage of the Dauphiné, won in the sprint by Roglic ahead of our national Thibaut Pinot. But it was behind, among the retarded, that the most unusual moment of the race was played out. A hailstorm broke out on the course and some runners picked it up right on the back. It is the case to say it, and here is the photo of we spoke to you in the introduction. Sensitive souls refrain.

If the favorites passed between the drops, a thunderstorm then erupted on the road to # Dauphiné with 15 minutes of massive hail. Impressive image of the back of Tim Declercq who finished under the flood like many other runners. 😳 pic.twitter.com/vvKDWrxt8s

This is the back of Tim Declercq, the Belgian from the Deneunick team. And we can easily imagine the pain that goes with it. "As if the Dauphiné did not already hurt his legs enough", is content to comment on the runner. Maxime Chevalier of the B&B Vital Concept team also suffered. We can imagine the size of the cattle that fell from the sky when we saw these images.

🤯 @maxxxchr attacked by a peloton of hailstones on the second stage of the @dauphine! 😱🌩

🙏 Respect guys. # Dauphiné l #ThereIsNoTry pic.twitter.com/iIcpeA9VLD
