Vancouver equalized the playoff series against Minnesota to 1-1 after a 4-3 victory over Edmonton in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

But Canucks star center Elias Pettersson will have to keep waiting for the NHL career's first playoff goal. For the second match in a row, the 21-year-old was goalless, but on the other hand, Pettersson's assist meant Borck Boeser's 3-1 goal in the second period - his first playoff points.

This year's rookie last year

Elias Pettersson, this year's rookie in the NHL last season, makes his first playoff appearance this year after Vancouver last year failed to get there. In the corona-abbreviated basic series, the Tre Kronor player was noted for 27 goals and 39 assists in 68 matches.

Vancouver, who lost the first playoff game against Minnesota by 0-3, played in the second game and Swedish goalkeeper Jacob Markström was again good in the box - this time without mistakes as last time - and saved 32 of 35 shots with a save percentage of 91.4.

Knew what was needed

-We knew we needed to make a big match and many different players rose. We fought hard for 60 minutes and that is what is needed in the playoffs, says 30-year-old Markström after the match.

Minnesota created some nerve with two late reductions, but Vancouver won a match where Canucks defender Alexander Edler became the best scorer in Sweden with two assists.
