Myanmar general election Mr. Suu Kyi has filed a candidacy report for the second term August 4 17:05

In Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, national leader of the ruling NLD = National Democratic League, has filed a report to run for his general election in November, on the 4th. In the future, the election campaign will be in full swing to secure the foundation for the second term of the administration.

A five-year Myanmar general election is scheduled for November 8th this year.

On the 4th, Mr. Suu Kyi visited the office of the Election Commission on the outskirts of the largest city, Yangon, and filed his candidacy.

A lot of supporters gathered around the office to cheer Suu Kyi.

The ruling NLD has candidates in almost all constituencies and seeks to maintain a single majority in parliament.

After the military-led government for more than half a century, the NLD government, which won overwhelmingly in the elections five years ago, has prioritized the progress of democratization, including constitutional amendments, and the harmony of different ethnic groups. However, we have not been able to achieve sufficient results.

Among the disappointed supporters, there are powers to establish a new party by understanding the origin, and a minority political party that makes up 30% of the population is also attacking to capture voters who are away from the NLD.

Under such circumstances, it is expected that the administration, which is effectively led by Suu Kyi, will secure a stable foundation for the second term.

In the general election of Myanmar, each political party will start a full-scale election campaign from the beginning of next month.
