Like the second major speedway league in Europe, the elite series kicks off next Tuesday. It will be Smålandsderby immediately when Vetlanda receives Dackarna.

There are also two clubs that both want to be involved and fight for the Swedish Championship gold, when the final is run in October.

The Ducks also received the most gold votes, three out of eight, when the league clubs had their start a week before the start of the series. It is noteworthy that the last three years' Swedish champions Smederna have withdrawn from the league for the coming season.

And maybe it's time for the first gold jubilation in Målilla since 2007. The Ducks have been in three finals in four seasons that ended with three Swedish Championship silver medals.

- You do not want to be reminded of that with the silver medals. Getting a gold medal would be nice, says Dackarna's team leader Peter Karlsson to SVT Sport.

Dudek and Janowski in the squad

A Dackarna who also announced the other day that they will keep the Polish World Cup stars Patryk Dudek and Maciej Janowski in the squad before the start of the season.

- It feels fantastic that we are now facing the elite series. This year is like nothing else, so we should be very happy that in a week we will kick off the series, says Dackarna's team leader Peter Karlsson.

Karlsson holds his own team as the favorite for the Swedish Championship gold. But he is not alone in Småland. Both Vetlanda's Mikael Wirebrand and Västervik's Morgan Andersson say the same thing.

- We will do everything in our power to be at the top. Then we know that there is competent resistance out there, so it is important to be humble and do your best, says Peter Karlsson.

World champion ready for Vetlanda

Vetlanda who recently finished with a new contract for the reigning world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, as the last piece of the puzzle in the squad.

- We will not be able to use him during the first part of the basic series, but we have an opportunity to do so at the end. All clubs will look at what opportunities there are to strengthen the team during the latter part of the season, and have alternative solutions. Vetlanda has that too, and we will do everything to take back the Swedish Championship gold, says Vetlanda's Mikael Wirebrand, who was champion last 2015.

- A lot is about what financial opportunities there are. Which teams will be the strongest is well about which drivers are available. But we have received positive vibes that the best can be available during the last half of the series, says Västervik's team manager and sports director Morgan Andersson.

In the first mode of the series, mainly the Swedish drivers will get the chance. It is also possible for the clubs to pick up drivers with so-called transfer cards until round six.
