the moment when the pitcher's ball passes through the strike zone, the cameras installed on the first and third bases of the stadium and outfield deliver the pitching trajectory to the analysis room, and

[Strike!]

Soon the judge behind the catcher makes the decision Draw.

This is the so-called robot referee, the machine automatic judgment system that debuted in the official game of the second group today.

The robot referee analyzes the information transmitted in real time through the camera and the pitching trajectory system, and the referee who hears the result with the earphone makes the judgment.

Strike zones are set manually for each batter to increase accuracy.

The reaction of the players is not bad.

[Sung Jae-heon/LG pitcher: (Rather than before) The width of the left and right seems to be narrow, and the width of the top and bottom is wide. After adapting, there was a standard for the strike zone, so I think it was convenient afterwards.] The

downside is that it takes about 2 seconds for the referee to receive the analysis results and make a decision.

In the US independent and educational leagues, the automatic judging system has been in operation since last year, and it has been evaluated that the accuracy needs to be increased.

As soon as the analysis system stabilizes, KBO plans to introduce robot referees in the game before the second squad.
