Seven wins at home. No other driver has succeeded in this before. Sunday's victory at Silverstone for Lewis Hamilton made him historic as the driver with the most victories at home.

It looked like a long time to be another comfortable victory for him, but on the last lap he got a puncture. Max Verstappen, who was in second place, shrank the distance quickly.

But Hamilton barely managed to take the finish flag as the first car.

- I was very calm and got good information about the distance down to Max. Until curve 15, it was good to turn, then I stepped on the gas at the bottom to keep away and just tried to keep the pace that went, he says in Viasat's broadcast.

Long stints took their toll

After 13 laps, Daniil Kvyat crashed and forced out the safety car. Most drivers dived into the depot and took on hard tires to cope with them for the rest of the race. But in the end, the long stint took its toll.

Valtteri Bottas looked to be second in the race, but with two laps left he got a puncture. Just seconds later, Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton also narrowed it down.

- Until the last lap, everything went very smoothly and well. When Valtteri got a puncture, I looked at my tires and thought it looked good, but then it was small, says Hamilton.

Charles Leclerc took the last podium.
