According to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, FHI, Sweden is counted as a "red zone", which means that people who have visited such a risk zone must be quarantined when returning to Norway.

Warholm is worried about suffering from covid-19. He calculates with what an illness would mean for him as an athlete.

- I do not want to risk being infected with corona. Even though I am a young man, it can be risky for me as a top athlete to suffer from such an illness. If my lung capacity were to deteriorate by only half a percent for the rest of my life, it could have an impact on my performance for the rest of my career, Warholm tells NRK.

If Warholm is to compete in Stockholm, strict rules of conduct apply.

Aiming for the European record of 400 meters plain

- One of the possibilities we talked about is to rent a motorhome and live completely in our own bubble. We'll see. But in any case I have a very great desire to compete because I trained very well, says Warholm who will run 400 meters smooth in Stockholm.

Warholm's Norwegian record is 44.87 from 2017 and he also has Thomas Schönlebe's European record of 44.33 from 1987 in sight.

- The time is 44.33 and I have carved that time behind the ear. If there are good conditions, I will give it a try. All records have an end date, even that, says an optimistic Warholm.

Warholm has only competed in an odd distance 300 meters hurdles at "Impossible Games" in Oslo in early June, where he recorded the world's best time, 33.79, in the distance.

Got into the 400 meter hurdles in Monaco via Instagram

He is restarting the season with Monaco's Diamond League gala on August 14. It is the first official competition in the series after show competitions during the summer. It was Warholm who contacted the organizer via Instagram to include a 400 meter hurdles, which was picked up on the program and is now financially supported by one of Warholm's sponsors.

Warholm ran last year at 46.92 and is second all-time after Kevin Young's world record of 46.78 from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

- I can at least promise that I will try to reach my maximum potential. Every time I get to the start, I want to try to run faster than I have ever done before, says Warholm.
