Ada Hegerberg pulled off the cruciate ligament in January. Just six months later, she is now back in training with her teammates during Lyon's camp in Poland, French media reports.

The Norwegian, who in 2018 was named the world's best football player, has been selected in the squad for three friendly matches against Polish teams next week. However, it is not certain that she will get playing time, writes NTB.

The Norwegian's progress increases the chances that she will be able to play the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich on 22 August.

It would not have been relevant if the playoffs had been decided as planned this spring.

"It's pretty incredible"

In this way, the 25-year-old has benefited from the corona pandemic.

- It is quite incredible to only miss four, five matches with a cruciate ligament injury. I have always thought that I am very lucky in life, this was probably it, Hegerberg said recently in an interview with Aftonbladet.

Lyon are the reigning Champions League champions after the final victory against Barcelona 2019. At that time, Ada Hegerberg scored three goals and she is the top scorer in the history of the tournament.
