Both teams chased a winning goal with a quarter on an echoing Friends. Then AIK staged a pattern attack. Eric Kahl recorded the ball far to the right in Sirius' penalty area, Heradi Rashidi met it on a volley and angled it obliquely inwards back to Sebastian Larsson. He pulled to and got a foul that Henok Goitom timed and beautifully heeled in goal.

There was a violent hug party between Larsson and Goitom after the important goal.

Per Karlsson record holder for AIK

Per Karlsson was substituted in the final minutes and was noted for his 396th competitive match for AIK, which means that he is the only record holder in the club after previously sharing it with Daniel Tjernström. Karlsson made his A-team debut for AIK back in 2003.

Sirius has lost momentum after his two visits to Stockholm which did not yield any goals. In the last round, they played 0-0 against Hammarby. It was AIK's first home win of the season against Sirius that went on the first away loss.
