The Russian, for whom this season is the first in Formula 2, started sixth and finished the race, held in rain conditions, in first place.

Second place went to Japanese Yuki Tsunoda from the Carlin team. Three winners were closed by the representative of China, Guanyu Zhou of UNI-Virtuosi.

Russian Nikita Mazepin from Hitech finished 14th, and Artyom Markelov left the race already at the warm-up lap.

The second race will be held July 12th.

It was previously reported that Lewis Hamilton won the Styrian Grand Prix qualification.
