The proposal for extension and sentencing in the Swedish bandy was met by mixed reactions, which led to the issue being taken up. Now the competition committee says it would pose big problems for bandy Sweden if it started to play extension and penalties instead of ending the matches at undecided results.

- It has come to light that with this proposal, we need to book extra ice time, which can cause us to lose training time and match time for youth teams. Especially Stockholm sees a great risk that they will be forced to suspend training and matches for youth teams. We absolutely do not want to. We want the youth team to have their times, says Christer Persson to Bandypuls.

This means that the competition committee and the rules and judges committee now change their perception of extensions and instead proposes that the proposal be put on ice. They want to see that it is investigated further before a decision is made, but it is after all the union that will make a decision on the matter. However, changing the proposal before the coming season becomes difficult.

"It is extremely doubtful I would say," says Persson.
