Victor Wernersson's transition to Belgian Mechelen was completed on Saturday. Since then, there have been some turbulent days for the left-back who missed Sunday's training when the flight home from Flygien was delayed. Something that Sports Manager Kennet Andersson was not entirely happy with.

In yesterday's away game against Norrköping, Wernersson had to start on the bench and he explained after the game that he had apologized to the team.

"I have apologized to the team, that it is not okay but I could not help it this time," he told SVT Sport.

"Threats will be reported to the police"

On Tuesday morning, IFK Gothenburg writes on its website that Wernersson has endured personal attacks and threats of violence after the transition, which the club is severely distancing from.

“We do not accept personal attacks, threats of violence or insinuations of violence on players or leaders. There are those who have called for violence and others who have liked these posts in social media. This should not and must not happen no matter what. Threats will be reported to the police, ”Blåvitt writes.

"Awakened disappointment"

Kennet Andersson has also commented on recent events on the website:

- It is known that some events about the transition disappointed us at the club. We have now talked to Victor and discussed what simply went wrong. For all the best, we put this behind us. We are convinced that Victor will do his utmost to finish in a professional manner lately in Blåvitt, says Andersson.
