Florian Maurice paw. A month after its officialization as sports director of Stade Rennais, the Lyonnais did not drag to attract a former protégé. Monday evening, it was the former OL striker Martin Terrier who settled in Rennes. As soon as he arrived, the new Rennais took over the management of Dinard, where the team trained by Julien Stéphan is in training. He took part in the collective session this Tuesday morning.

"The player had been identified before I arrived at the club," says Florian Maurice. “He's a player we've been following for a while. We tried to get him to come last season already. We had inquired about the possibility of doing so, ”confirms Julien Stéphan.

"He does not only mark, he works a lot for the collective"

The 23-year-old player was obviously seduced by the Breton project since he signed a five-year contract running until 2025. According to L'Equipe, the transfer allowed Olympique Lyonnais to pocket 12 million euros, plus three as a bonus and 15% on a possible capital gain in the event of resale. An amount almost identical to that paid by the club of Jean-Michel Aulas in 2018 when Martin Terrier had left Lille. At that time, it was already Florian Maurice who knew how to attract the young talent, loaned in stride to RC Strasbourg before integrating the front of the attack of Gones.

He is someone who is very skilful but who also needs confidence and continuity in his services. When he has that, he is able to chain goals and assists. He is a team member, he works for the team. He does not only score, he works a lot for the collective, "says Florian Maurice on the website of the Breton club. For his part, the player also inquired before signing. "I know a lot of players here, I've only had positive feedback," said Martin Terrier.
