The German Football Club Schalke decided not to set up the annual training camp for the team, in preparation for the season, in the Austrian town of Mittersill, in order not to spoil a wedding.
The training camp's date has been delayed to be held between August 21 and 29, after the last season's competitions were concluded late after a paused period due to the pandemic of the newly created Corona Virus (Covid-19), so next season's competitions start later than usual.

The newspaper "West Deutsche Allgemeine Zeitung" reported today that a couple had already booked the hotel for their wedding during that period for the Schalke camp, and that the club took a good initiative, and decided to waive the benefit of the reservation priority, so as not to spoil the couple's celebrations. The newspaper quoted the bride, Andrea Gruer, as saying: "The club's response was immensely friendly and kind. They saved me the wedding, and I am very grateful to Schalke for this." The location where Schalke will hold its training camp has not been announced, although it has set up its camp in Mittersill in the past four years.
