When the Western Championships competitions took place on Saturday, the discus star Daniel Ståhl got a fine visit.

In the starting field there was also Hässelbysonen Simon Pettersson who got the chance to compete at home. The really long throws failed and Pettersson was close to snatching victory from Ståhl.

Pettersson stopped at 66.32 meters - Ståhl at 66.55 meters.

"Tired of it"

The final result was a good bit from Ståhl's Swedish record 71.86 meters and after the competition Ståhl's coach Vesteinn Hafsteinsson was anything but satisfied.

- I'm pissed. I am tired of watching failed castes. He throws like a fucking rake, I'm just tired of it, he says and continues:

- He can't hold on like this, we have to raise the demands. It is fantastic relationship here, we go to race after race and he misses all the fucking throws. I'm tired of it, that's fine.

- I agree with Vesteinn, says Daniel Ståhl.

After all, you throw over 70 meters on training, your coach says, how does it feel to be out of competition?

- Yes, you can go into the ring yourself and try and we'll see? Joking aside, it's just the timing that's awkward right now and it's coming. It's no stress, he tells SVT Sport.
