Although the year's season ended prematurely, Elias Pettersson managed to score the score from the rookie season.

66 points (27 goals, 39 assists) stopped the success of the league when the league was blown off in March, and Pettersson returned to Sweden.

- My second season I am very happy, but I still think - or I know I can - play better, says the 21-year-old to the NHL's site, and mentions the puck safety and never losing puck matches, as two examples.

On Tuesday, Pettersson trained on ice for the first time with his teammates in Vancouver, on a voluntary pass in small groups. Meanwhile in Sweden, Pettersson says he has not been on the ice.

- When you are not on the ice every day, you lose the timing, and you lose the fitness in the legs, but it will come back very soon, says the former Steam player.

He says it's strange to be back, when he lives in a hotel and just walks between it and the rink.

If all goes well, Vancouver will face Minnesota in the best of five games in the playoffs later this summer.

"It's a risk, but we follow our instructions to hopefully get back to the game," Elias Pettersson told nhl.com.
