In search of new leaders since May, OM is holding its "Head of business", Hugues Ouvrard, marketing specialist spent by OMTV, Canal +, SFR and the world of video games (Electronic Arts and XBox). His appointment Thursday as Deputy CEO "coincides with the start of the second phase of club development," said OM in a statement.

"Hugues will supervise all of the operational and functional functions of the club excluding football," said President Jacques-Henri Eyraud. "I almost started my professional career in Marseille with OM and I have kept ties there", detailed Hugues Ouvrard, who notably developed the OMTV project, in the press release. "Finding the club 20 years later is a great honor and a unique opportunity at a key time in its development," said Ouvrard.

However, this appointment did not have the expected effect on OM supporters. Some of them were quick to flush out on Twitter old messages from Ouvrard pro-PSG. A great classic of  bad buzz, that neither the interested party nor the Olympian leaders had anticipated.

The hashtag #Ouvrarddemission even appeared in the trends late Thursday afternoon. It certainly won't go that far, but this appointment clearly could have gone better.
