German Football Association President Fritz Keeler has revealed that the federation is close to allowing nearly a thousand fans to attend the final of the German Cup, scheduled for the fourth of next July.

Bayern Munich, which yesterday won the title of the Bundesliga, won the eighth consecutive season, and Bayer Leverkusen, at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

All matches have been played without an audience since the competition resumed in Germany on May 16 after a two-month hiatus due to the pandemic of the Corona virus emerging (Covid-19).

"The Senate (the Berlin State Executive Board) is responsible. In Berlin, events of up to 1,000 people are allowed. And if the Senate says - yes it can be done - we will allow 1,000 fans to attend," Keeler told German television.

Talks have already begun on this matter, knowing that politicians in Berlin had announced earlier that football would not receive special treatment, in terms of restrictions and procedures in place to limit the spread of infection.
