Neither the Covid-19 nor a rupture of the cruciate ligament of the right knee slowed down the "bankable" potential of Ada Hegerberg. OL's Norwegian striker, the first female Golden Ball in history in December 2018, has just signed a “long-term” contract with the American equipment supplier Nike. The announcement was made on Monday by the company of agents representing the 24-year-old player, and it is a resounding partnership and still very rare in women's football.

The amount of this partnership, with a duration of ten years "at least", was not communicated but it would be evaluated at one million euros, according to a source close to the Lyonnaise. Currently recovering from his serious right knee injury at the end of January, Ada Hegerberg joins a prestigious circle of sports stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James, Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams, Neymar or Kylian Mbappé as "global ambassador" from the famous American brand.

"Highlighting female sport in the years to come"

"This is a new stage in my career," says the Norwegian, under contract until 2021 with OL. Nike and I have a common goal to highlight women's sport in the years to come. My performances have brought me to where I am today and I am determined to continue writing history with the help of Nike, on and off the field. "

Co-founder of the A&V Sports agency which represents the best goal scorer in the history of the Champions League, Victor Bernard is delighted with this announcement: "This is a historic contract and a real commitment, both to Ada and women's football ".
