The domestic tour of men's golf has been canceled since April this year, and a new tournament for professionals and amateurs to participate in Tsukuba Mirai City, Ibaraki Prefecture, was scheduled to start on the 8th of next month.
Due to the spread of infection, this tournament was also decided to be canceled as a tour competition, but the Japan Golf Tour Organization and the organizer will incorporate infection prevention measures and use it as a reference when holding future tournaments etc. As an informal decision.
The tournament will be held for two days from the 9th of next month without any spectators, and only 90 professional athletes who have the right to participate in the tour will participate in the tournament, which was created by five domestic golf-related organizations. It means that the infection prevention measures required by the guidelines are thoroughly implemented.
The men's domestic tour is expected to resume after August this year due to the decision to cancel the tournament in Tsukuba Mirai City.
