The American Trotting Association (USTA) states that Propulsion was nerve-cut in April 2015, which is allowed in the United States, but not in Sweden. The horse was then sold to Sweden and trotting trainer Daniel Redén and after the purchase the nerve cut was registered by USTA. Also in the export certificate - which the newspaper Sulkysport published - it appears that the horse was nerve cut. The magazine also took note of the veterinary clinic's report that performed the nerve cutting.

Throughout the investigation Propulsion is suspended for competition in Sweden. But Marjaana Alaviuhkola, chairman of the travel association, cannot tell if they have been able to verify US data that Propulsion is nerve-cut.

- As the investigation is ongoing, it is difficult to comment on anything, and it could also affect the investigation. We may wait for such a statement until we have all the facts and the information is verified. This was information that came out of the press on Tuesday and immediately started ST this investigation. While the investigation is underway, it is difficult to comment on the information that emerges, she says.

Investigation ready for the week

Marjaana Alaviuhkola hopes that the investigation is ready for next week. In addition to an investigation into Propulsion, the union has launched an internal review of how the star horse was able to compete for five years in Sweden with a suspected nerve incision.

- This report also includes an internal review of our processes. We will not only examine the specific case of import and purchase but also the handling of the union, she says and continues:

- It's something we look at in the investigation. How has this happened and mapped out how the processes have been. We need to get all the facts out so we know what we're talking about.

Has this damaged confidence in trotting sports in Sweden?

- We will simply see what the investigation comes to. When we have all the facts on the table we will see what damage it has caused. But that has hurt the trotting sport, we know that.
