The Premier League, following Fifa's recommendation to allow five exchanges per team during the matches remaining from the 2019-2020 season. The clubs agreed this Thursday.

Fifa came up with the proposal in May as part of protecting the players when the matches are tight in packed game schedules. During the rest of the season, the PL clubs will also allow nine substitutes per team, instead of seven which is the normal one.

The German Bundesliga has already introduced the measure and when allsvenskan starts on June 14, five exchanges apply there as well.

The Premier League will restart on June 17.
