The fourth Winter Olympic Games will be held in Gangwon-do, South Korea in 2024. This is the first time the Winter Olympic Games will be held in Asia. The Gangwon-do Winter Olympics Coordination Committee, chaired by Zhang Hong, will connect with the local organizing committee on behalf of the International Olympic Committee to jointly organize this event.
It is worth mentioning that after Li Lingwei served as the chairman of the 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games Coordination Committee, Zhang Hong became another Chinese International Olympic Committee member to serve as the chairman of the Olympic Games Coordination Committee.
Zhang Hong won the women ’s 1000-meter speed skating championship at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, achieving a zero breakthrough gold medal in the Chinese speed skating Winter Olympics. She is also the ambassador for the bid for the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games, and has played an important role in the advancement of China's sports career and the promotion of sports image.
