Lester City coach Branden Rodgers revealed Friday that he suffered from a new Corona virus last March, comparing him to "climbing Kilimanjaro".

The Northern Irishman became the second coach in "Premier League" to announce that he was HIV positive, after Spanish Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta in March.

"I was barely able to walk and reminded me of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro" in 2011 for a charitable work, at an altitude of 5,865 meters in Tanzania, "the former Liverpool coach told BBC Radio Lester Friday.

"The more I go up, the more I suffer to cope and the more difficult it is to breathe."

"We had a week's vacation when we were supposed to face Watford (March 14th), and then I started suffering the following week."

The former Scottish Celtic coach added that his wife was also infected with the virus.

"For three weeks I lost my sense of smell and taste. I had no strength and a week later my wife felt the same symptoms. We were tested and found to have the virus," he said.

Rodgers confirmed that he had recovered completely from the disease and underwent successive negative tests.

"I remember the first time I tried to run (after being hit), it was difficult for me to run ten yards (9 meters) ... I lost my appetite and it was strange that I ate food that I could not taste," he explained.

English clubs agreed a tentative date for the league's resumption on June 17, after the competition was suspended in March due to the outbreak of the virus.

Leicester City is third in the standings after Liverpool, the extraordinary candidate for the title, and Manchester City second and title holder.
