In an article published on Friday, the New York Times reports that the location of the final could be changed. Spanish radio Cadena Cope cited Lisbon as a possible fallback, while Sky Italy mentioned Germany.

An edition completed in August?

In a recent interview with the Portuguese daily Record , UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said he had high hopes of finishing the 2019-2020 edition of the event "at the end of August".

This scenario, already mentioned by UEFA but not officially confirmed, presumes to resume European competitions in early August, after the end of the national championships currently in the recovery phase in most major countries, with the notable exception of France.

According to a UEFA working document consulted by AFP last month, the final could be rescheduled on 29 August.
