One of SHL's best goalkeepers leaves the league. Today, the KHL team announced Sochi that they have signed a one-year contract with the club.

Thus, 27-year-old Joel Lassinantti leaves the club he has belonged to since 2008. He was selected as SHL's best goalkeeper of the 2018-2019 season, and has had the least two goals scored per match - the past season only 1.59. The season that ended he also kept the most zeros in the league: Six.

"A delight for me"

On his Instagram account, he opens to return to the club in the future.

"Getting to play in one's hometown has been a joy for me and hopefully it's not the last time either," he writes.

In Sochi, who missed the playoffs this past season, he becomes a teammate with three Swedes: David Rundblad, Linus Johansson and Marcus Nilsson.
