Coronavirus: Borussia Mönchengladbach can count on cardboard fans for the recovery - 20 Minutes

The Bundesliga resumes Saturday after two months of stoppage linked to the coronavirus epidemic. But the matches will have to be held behind closed doors. So to prevent German footballers from playing in an empty stadium and so that fans can show their support for their favorite team, Borussia Mönchengladbach has found a solution. In preparation for the May 23 game against Bayer Leverkusen, the club installed thousands of cardboard figures with the real faces of the fans in the stands of Borussia Park.

Each person can order a card with their own effigy on this website. 12,000 silhouettes have already been purchased and 4,500 already placed within the stadium. The little extra: for each carton ordered, a portion is donated to research against the Covid-19.
