The South American Football Association (CONMEBOL) has issued new rules to combat the emerging Corona virus, and includes informing the teams participating in the Libertadores Cup and the Sudamericana Cup that players should avoid spitting and kissing balls. The two championships were suspended in March due to the outbreak of the virus and the date of their launch has not been decided yet.

"The players should not extract mucus from their noses or replace playing shirts with competitors after the game, and they should also use their own water bottles," Conmipol said in a statement.

Players must wear masks in press interviews after matches in addition to players on the bench.
