The damall Swede did not start on May 31 was expected but a setback for the clubs. The job of finding a new start date is already underway and a proposal is available from the Damallsvenskans reference group.

But to get the game schedule together, weekly matches will be required. Something that becomes difficult, says Piteå's chairman Rikard Fahlman.

- The question is whether we can fix it. It gets awfully heavy, both financially and the wear and tear of the players. Stellan (Carlsson, the coach in Piteå) said so; when should we even train in that case ?, Fahlman refers and continues with another concern:

- We don't know what's going on with the flight yet. Probably it will be more expensive and fewer departures, if we can even fly. And if we can't fly, we will never be able to train but just sit on the bus and train.

The Norrlandslagen in the series, Umeå and Piteå, are hit hardest in terms of travel, but Fahlman believes that there are problems for all teams in the series with weekly matches.

- It is one thing if you are a full-time professional like on the men's side but for our players in damallsvenskan the players have a job to manage as well. If we go down to Skåne and play on a weekday, it takes working days and then it becomes costly to replace, says Fahlman, who started to think about a single series this year.

But if double meets are not played, the clubs will lose revenue. During last week, the series competitor Vittsjö told you that you lose SEK 70,000-75,000 for every home game that is not played.

- It is affecting us financially as well, but somewhere there is a stop for double meetings, and somewhere on that timeline we are now. This is a point where we must say that we will not be able to fix playing double meetings, says Piteå's chairman.

How do the other teams look at the proposal with a single series?

- Everyone wants a double series from the beginning, but I know that Umeå, which is in the same situation as us, has long advocated a single series.

And if there is a reduced number of rounds, Fahlman wants a - in a way - closed league in 2020.

- If it becomes a single series, I think you should close the series. If the first matches go wrong and a team gets an injury to a key player, then it is extremely difficult to catch up. Then how it can fall out with the draw with home and away matches, it can disadvantage a team somewhat copyistically, says Fahlman and develops:

- I think you should close for relocation but not relocation (from the elite). It is discussed whether to expand the damall Swan from the year 2022 but then one can move that extension one year. Because I do not think it will be felt any further for anyone that a team will leave according to these conditions. You have to strive for some kind of sporting justice.
