The former Saudi Al-Ahly coach and former Egyptian Zamalek, Swiss Christian Gross, surrendered to the misfortune that accompanied him since winning with the "White Castle" team in the Confederation Cup in the 2018-2019 season, and announced his formal retirement after 32 years spent in the artistic region.

"I will stop training ... I will not go to the stadium again," Gross, 65, told the Swiss SRF network on Sunday.

The Swiss coach had been removed from his position twice within four months, the first in last October, by the president of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour, who entered with him in several clashes and the famous incident between them on the podium of the Confederation Cup when Mortada was very angry with the coach despite winning a championship, He later asked the coach to leave the stadium to the plane with his dismissal envelope, and the second time was last February, by a decision from Al-Ahly Jeddah club that did not achieve with Gross a positive result, so he was dispensed with.

Mortada Mansour put great pressure on Gross when he was coach of Zamalek, as he was not fully confident in his capabilities until he interfered in the formation of the team and the way of playing, specifically the second half of the African Cup final, according to what the President of Zamalek announced after crowning the title.

It seems that the suffering that Gross experienced in Zamalek and the people of Jeddah forced him to stop his training career (he won 15 championships), during which he also trained ancient clubs the size of Tottenham Hotspur, the Swiss Basel, and German Stuttgart.
