  • At only 17, Eduardo Camavinga established himself as a holder at Stade Rennais.
  • The nugget of Angolan origin is courted by Real Madrid or PSG.
  • Will he quickly leave the Breton club when it could compete in the Champions League?

We know that he is coveted by Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSG and Dortmund. Eduardo Camavinga, the promising 17-year-old midfielder from Stade Rennais, said he felt "good in Rennes" in an interview published Friday by the daily Ouest France , which is his first intervention in the press.

“Certainly, it's nice that big clubs like those mentioned are interested in me, but (…), I'm not too interested in that. Especially since I am well in Rennes. We'll see what happens next… I let my parents and my agents manage this, ”replies the young prodigy.

"I don't watch too much" rumors

He, whom his club has so far jealously guarded from the media, is also trying to escape rumors of the bright future that some predict. "I don't look too much, but I see anyway. In fact, I can't avoid it. ” "Once, in Amiens in the League Cup (in December 2019), an opponent said to me:" We have to exchange our shirts before you go to Real Madrid ". But I didn't really want to joke, we had just been eliminated. After that, I thought about it, I laughed about it, ”he says.

“What I know about my future is that I will go free to Fougères (the club where he started near Rennes) to end my career. I will only ask for a small voucher after the matches, ”he jokes.

"I hope to be at the Euro and the Olympics"

Trained in Rennes, where he is under contract until 2022, Eduardo Camavinga made his debut in Ligue 1 just a year ago, at the age of 16 years and 5 months, before quickly establishing himself as a pillar of the team, impressive in precocity but above all in confidence, liveliness and vision of the game. The young prodigy, born in Angola of Congolese parents and arrived in France with his family at the age of 2, was naturalized in November and immediately summoned to the France Espoirs team.

Asked if he dreams of participating in the Olympic Games or the Euro next year, he replies that his dream is the World Cup, the next edition of which will take place at the end of 2022 in Qatar. The Euro and the Olympics, “it's more of an objective. And yes, I hope to be there. You will have to give me the means next season, work hard. ”
