The American Football Association has announced that three clubs will allow their players to resume exercises starting today, on a voluntary basis, in their training centers. The league competition has been suspended for a long time from March 12, just two stages after its launch due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, and it is unlikely that the matches will resume in the foreseeable future in the country most affected by the epidemic around the world.

The association has previously identified June 8 as the earliest possible date for the resumption of the season, although hopes are slim that this will be achieved after Coved-19 has caused more than 70,000 reported deaths in the United States. Atlanta United, Sporting Kansas City and Inter Miami will begin returning to training, as these clubs are located in states where health authorities have allowed individual exercises in the open air, according to the clubs concerned.

Among the other clubs available for this is Impact Montreal, which is supervised by French coach Thierry Henry, but the club decided to wait before returning to training. The rules of the association require the presence of a maximum of four players at the same time during exercises while maintaining social spacing and a safe distance, in addition to wearing masks, provided that each player undergoes a temperature measurement upon arrival.

The clubs set up special stations for washing and disinfection of hands before entering the center, and specified specific locations for parking cars in the position in order to maintain the required distance. While Elliot Fall, Real Salt Lake coach, said it was a good idea "to return to something normal", Seattle Sounders coach Brian Schmitzer said that the exercises would not work in light of the delayed resumption of the season.

"Everyone has been staying in their homes for a while, and I think on a mental level it is good for players to come back and run on the grass," he said. "The downside is that the matches are still far away. The players will tire of practicing dribbling for an hour," said the Seattle club coach, who has not yet been allowed by Washington authorities to resume exercises.
