He achieved his greatest success as a coach for the Miami Dolphins, leading him to two Super Bowl titles and three more finals. The year 1972 is particularly memorable as Miami as the only team to date in history went through the season without a single loss.

In total, he did 32 seasons as an NFL coach, first in the Baltimore Colts (1963-1969) and then in the Miami Dolphins (1970-1955). With 328 wins in 490 matches, he is one of only two head coaches (George Halas is the other) who has reached over 300 wins.

Don Shula turned 90.
