On Wednesday, the International Golf Association, IGF, announced that the Olympic qualification will be extended to June next year.

On the men's side, players will be able to collect qualifying points until June 12, 2021, and on the women's side, the corresponding date is June 28.

But Sweden's national team captain Katarina Vangdal - the one responsible for the Swedish Golf Association for the Olympic Games - sees a conceivable problem.

- The uncertainty right now applies when the competitions will start. The world ranking is frozen considering the situation we are in and it is absolutely crucial to be able to take an Olympic place. If not all the tourers start at the same time, a bunch will get benefits, says Vangdal to SVT Sport.

- It looks like the US tour is getting started first and I don't know how they reason now, if you keep the ranking closed until all tours are in progress or if you just drive on. It could be daunting, she continues.

The Tokyo Olympic Golf will consist of 60 players on the women's and men's side respectively. After 112 years of absence, golf was back as an Olympic branch at the Rio de Janeiro Games four years ago. Then Henrik Stenson took a silver medal on the men's side.
