Liverpool football striker and former Irish national team player, Michael Robinson, has died at the age of 61. The Robinson family published a brief statement through its official account on Twitter. Robinson moved from Brighton to the Spanish league, where he played for the Osasuna team in 1987, and after retiring two years later he moved to work on television channels and radio stations, where he became very popular with fans of Spanish football.
"We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of Michael and his friends at this very sad time," said Brighton.

Robinson had skin cancer in 2018, but continued to work as a TV and radio commentator until the suspension of La Liga competition in March. Former English star Gary Lineker, who followed the path Robinson took in his career playing in Spain and moving to work in the media, was one of many who offered their condolences today.

"I feel very sorry for knowing the death of Michael Robinson, not only was he a good player, but he achieved great success after football in Spain," Linckerer said on Twitter. ". The 1983/1984 season was the only one for Robinson with Liverpool, where he won the Premier League title, Professional League Cup and European Club Cup (currently UEFA Champions League).
