Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona has defended the Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho, who faces charges of using forged travel documents to enter Paraguay.
Maradona told the Spanish newspaper "Marca": "What happened to my friend Ronaldinho grieved me ... he is not a criminal."
"Ronaldinho went to Paraguay just for work. His mistake is that he is loved. He is my friend and I will support him to death."
Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto were finally released by Paraguay authorities after the court decided to release them after paying $ 1.6 million in bail, and the court imposed house arrest on one of the two hotels in the capital Asuncion.
