In response to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, it was found that the Japan Federation of Junior High School Sports Association was making final adjustments with the policy of canceling the summer national junior high school sports competition planned in Aichi Prefecture and elsewhere.
The summer national junior high school gymnastics tournament was scheduled to have 16 sports such as athletics, swimming and basketball in Aichi prefecture, Gifu prefecture, Shizuoka prefecture and Mie prefecture in August.
Due to the spread of the infection, the sponsored Chutairen has been considering whether to hold the tournament, but according to the people concerned, it was decided this week that the Kinki tournament, which also served as the qualifying, was cancelled. It means that we are proceeding with the final adjustment with the policy of canceling.
As a junior high school competition held under compulsory education, the main reason is that fairness cannot be guaranteed.
The Chugokuren will make final coordination with each sports organization and will officially announce the cancellation in the near future.
Regarding the sports club of the school, the National Federation of High School Physical Education continues to consider whether or not to hold the summer high school festival, the largest festival of high school sports.
